On a freezing bitter eve...
The stars and moon glistened,
Layers of snow and ice slivery-
with shades of black and blue,
Foliage ice-caked and hidden-
under a blanket of white snow,
Warmth radiated from the kitchen,
Sitting on the couch looking-
through the fogged up window sills,
comfortable protected from the winter...
Heat cushioned from the chill,
Little droplets of wet ice,
peaceful with a quiet trickle-
slowly melting the solid cold,
steady tap- tap, hitting ice-sickles...
Gently liquid took over the snow...
cracking, breaking and shifting,
Watching for an hour or two,
as the night passes into sleeping...
soft and methodically, the rain flew...
