To Khantiya: My Sunrise
Cool crisp- flow of wind drifts...
settling, the cold chill of morning mist;
Air firm, with caressing hands...
shifting the dark to light bands,
crackling- the solitude of night;
Piercing needles- of golden sight,
sun rays pushing and searching...
lifting opaque curtains, the day's working;
Darkness- lurking, a void that's receding...
hovering, the silhouette ghost- weakening;
Calling clouds, of reinforcement- pleading...
blinding, the shining newborn beacon;
Fading- as quickly as it came,
shedding to a yellow flame;
Rays bursting through- as intense shards...
cuts, the morning stillness- hard...
Chasing away, the frigid grasp-
clearing, the sky's cluttered mask;
Showing the brilliance, that is ripe...
sunrise- a birth from the night.
