These skylines, these city lights
They burn with the sun.
These tear drops, they cry out
but they can’t silence these thoughts.
This hollow, this screaming
erupts the subconscious.
The white lies, they’re alright
and we’re so blind.
Tripping and falling, upwards we’re crawling
towards our destination.
I see it for my miles, these veiled smiles
they can’t deny treachery.
Take it away; no reason to stay
try talking faster
I couldn’t win, if I wanted to lose
this is our world.
Fall at the altar, pray for transcendence
just trying to buy some time.
Pen out your heart with these foolish words
they’re not listening, they don’t care…
They don’t want to see when they stare
holding themselves, and crying to sleep.
Lucid and insane, here we remain
tipping the odds in our favor
all balance is lost.
Do you understand what it’s like?
When love forsakes the world
Take it away; no reason to stay
try talking faster
I couldn’t win, if I wanted to lose
this is our world.
Stare at skylines, stare and pray
fall to your knees, and lie to yourselves.
Curl and weep, tremble incessantly
hold to your heart what you hold dear.
Selfish, arrogant skylines
selfish, arrogant skylines….
