I’m haunted by this desire to chew,
I’ve concluded today–Thanksgiving day.
Curse the turkey leg I can only view!
Oh, for my mouth’s crisp, crunchy rendezvous
With the apple that is not a puree.
I’m haunted by this desire to chew.
Even the homeless in a long food queue
Would not pick up this pile of grey.
Curse the turkey leg I can only view!
I will hold my breath until I am blue.
But how could that ever truly convey–
I’m haunted by this desire to chew.
This gruel’s loathsome carrionistic hue
Inspires my heart’s and tongue’s sad decay.
Curse the turkey leg I can only view!
Though I may suck down this mystery brew,
Beware: I will soon continue to bray.
I’m haunted by this desire to chew.
Curse the turkey leg I can only view!
