about: casey calvert; guitarist of hawthorne heights, died a few days ago. he was involved with an organization called 'to write love on her arms.' which is in existence to help stop cutting and suicide. the guy who started twloha. wrote about casey's death and in one part said "our hearts are light and heavy, we laugh and scream and sing, our hearts are light and heavy." these words inspired me to write this poem and i use them in it.

    feedback: all feedback welcome.

“our hearts are lite and heavy”
and this air keeps on forgetting
    the anguish in our cries
“we laugh and scream and sing”
‘cause we’ve heard the days are evil
and we’re high on goodnites and goodbyes

“our hearts are lite and heavy”
and the sun keeps on forgetting
    its our turn to rise
“we laugh and scream and sing”
‘cause today will leave ocean pain
and we’re high on goodnites and goodbyes

“our hearts are lite and heavy”
    and we keep on forgetting
    that we are not permanent
“we laugh and scream and sing”
‘cause noise will keep silence at bay
and we’re high on goodnites and goodbyes

THAT is exactly what poetry is all about. And you used the quotes perfectly.
I love the subtle rhyme scheme you threw in there too, along with the repetition of certain words.

"and the sun keeps on forgetting
    its our turn to rise"

I've never been a hawthorne heights fan, but I went to one of their concerts a while ago, and it really wasn't too bad at all. He was very talented.
Death can be so sad... but at least awesome things are inspired by it.

    I loved this.
