A small, small seed among many seeds
Fights off the rodents and the large weeds
A seed that fell from the tall, tall tree
Its branches long, its stance mighty.
The seed grows
Even as the wind blows.
It grows strong in the dim light
Wondering when it will be an easier fight.
The sapling grows
Despite what nature throws.
It will soon be powerful and mighty
Like its parent tree so large and free.
As the years go by
The tree grows to the sky.
Up, up, up so very high
While other saplings die.
But not I said the tree
As it longs to be free
Free and big like its parent tree
I will not die, not die, not die. O no! not me!
A few years later, when the tree was taller,
Near the tree came an animal some called a faller.
The little tree gave this new kind of animal a kind welcome
But no kind answer was to come
The animal pierced that beautiful skin
That the parent tree had, like a hated sin
Both trees cried in agonized pain
As the tree lost its mighty reign
With passion burning deep with in,
The little tree grew strong with in its skin
It promised to revenge what was done to his parent
And the little tree thought that what it had to do was so transparent.
So in many years
When the fallers came with their leers.
The little tree wasn’t some small
It had grown free and tall
The fallers tried to pierce its skin
But the saw would not begin.
The little tree became so tough
That nothing could be sharp enough.
Angry at that tall, tall tree
The fallers picked up a saw as loud as can be
And they started to fall
That tree so tall.
But that tall, tall tree
Was as strong as could be
It wouldn’t fall
Not for the tall, nor the small
But, alas, the saw was too sharp
Cut through the tree like a knife on a harp
But the tree wouldn’t surrender
And in one last attempt, the tree in all its splender.
On the faller
So the faller fell
(like he should)
For wellers well
And bellers bell.
And tellers tell.
And as the tall, tall tree died
It looked closely by its side
And saw a new sapling from its seeds
Fighting amongst its dreary weeds
And that new little sapling found the strength
With in its old parent tree big length
And made a promise to get revenge
No matter how hard it would be to avenge!
And the faller will fall once more.
