To My "Loving Wife" From the Book known as Insanity Springs Vol.1

The ground was cold and hard as ice. Dead grass intertwined itself along with hardened snow. The sky was dark as dark as midnight. My heart was heavy, dry within my chest. Slowly I walk over a mountains path. My eyes are hazy. I see a light dimly My legs are heavy but I press on. Slowly the cold frigid air looses its bite.

And then off in the distance I see the silhouette of a woman. Weakened by from the cold only my heart drives me forward. I place my fingers on my head pulling through ice chunks. The sky roles over onto its self. The sun burst through the cloud cover. Its shines intensely on her pale face and your long black hair. Serenity is her countenance and her beauty follows her. I can still see her a long way off, I call out. "Terry, Terry."

The sky recedes onto itself, closing the sun lit gap. You glance at me with shock in your eyes. Your knees fold and your chest falls into the warm grass. Thin slivers of ice fall from the sky onto the trees and the mountains again bring darkness.

I run toward you with all that is within me. My body is heavy and cold. The wind pushes against me. The distance between us closes in as I run tireless toward you. My heart is pounding. Every moment stretches because I am filled with anxiety. Then in what seams to be an instant I find my self at your feet.

I place my hands on the grass near your head and touch your warm soft skin, your eyes open.

"Come with me, Let me help, I can make it better."

"Words, Words, You speak mere words it must come from your heart or your empty words will kill us both!"

And the sky grows dark turning everything black. And all that could be felt was the wind. It was a wind that cuts like razor blades freezing even the flesh under your skin. I reach behind your ear and touch your head.

    "Why didn't you change?"

    Slowly I respond.

"I don't know? My fear that it's too late."

"The time for repentance is past you have sealed my fate."

You stair at me intensely, with your whole body trembling. I pull your body close to mine, I can hardly see you the darkness is so great.

And there in the grass we hold onto each other, crying because it is time for us to part.

"I hold myself guilty of ruining you"

And there in the dark you pass from us both. I hold you tight, sobbing uncontrollable. There, laying in the grass my heart dies with you.

Then I lay down with you in my arms and wait for Death to take me too.
