If I were to chance upon a burning star
With more heat than the blood in my veins
Shimmering, shaking in the frozen sky
Light years of void space between us
Would it, perhaps, chance upon me?
Nothing keeps my gaze as a night sky
As this diamond among zircon
In a sea of shivering lights
One my gaze may never just overlook
Because it stares intently back
Long I have journeyed this cold Earth
With nothing but stones and ice to accompany
Yet when my star casts it's rays
Breaking free of shy glittering reserve, it shines
I cannot help but feel the warmth |
