    I'd told her a lie
The only angel in my life
    I'd pushed her away
Told her I didn't want her
And now I was paying the price
Every time I closed my eyes
    Although I cannot sleep
    I see her face
    In my mind
This cut just went too deep
    My family
Forced to leave in my wake
    I'm a vile creature
    A monster
And the self loathing was nearly too much to take
    Yet I cannot return
    I must stay away
For I have made a promise
And this time it wouldn't break
    Evin if I did return
However slim that chance may be
For her my heart may still burn
Yet hers must not for me
I could see that she'd believed it
When I'd told her those wretched lies
    I couldn't believe my ears
As she listened to me break our ties
    She fought against her tears
    And slowly won
It was hard for her to swallow
As she ate the lies she was fed
    I would not
    Could not fight
    If it even existed
The hate she would harbor for me
    If I ever visited
    Because in my heart
    Although it has no beat
The things that I had said to her
Were the very blackest forms of blasphemy
