I sat alone in a large room.
No other person could be seen aside from I.
I sat precisely in the middle, upon a sturdy wooden chair.
The light of the candles dancing off the walls.
The sound of wood creaking filled the air.
My eyes were locked upon a small table that laid inches from my face.
Oh Silence, great silence! How I adore thee!
My eyes transfixed upon a single plate.
Or shall I say, what seemed to rest upon the plate
And not the plate itself?
For from the light of the flickering candles,
That danced across the room in awe,
I saw the shadow of some creature
Glaring at me that plate.
Oh Silence, great Silence! How I adore thee!
I watched in wonder and sat in fear
As the shadow of the unknown creature glared into my soul this day.
Was I to know that it was fate?
Dare I tempt myself to touch its face?
For as I raced throughout my mind to find a face for this creature
The event hit me with the force of a falling tree.
And beneath such pressure I began to cry
As the creature now came after me.
Oh Silence, great Silence! How I adore thee!
Precisely seven days and merely six nights ago
I had given in to wrath on a mere flip of a dime.
Precisely five days and merely four nights ago
I abducted a child of my own blood from the bed of my own home.
Precisely three days and merely two nights ago
I removed my offsprings arms and legs
Then fed my "missing" child to his mother as stew
And watched as she consumed her meal with not even a smile on my face.
Oh Silence, great Silence! How I adore thee!
As the the creature grew so nearer
I stared into its hateful eyes and quickly felt its pain.
And as the creature took away my arms
I simply begged it to make no noise.
For I could never stand the sound of life.
This was the cause of my offsprings disappearence.
For a child whom made no noise was an angel to me.
I even commented on how I thought that I'd never see the day
When a child would be found within its mother
Slowly digesting and flowing through her bowels.
