The wind tells tales of the gypsy rose
Torn from her home and sent to a foreign land
Her dreams were shattered but not for long
The gypsy rose as wild as she is strong
Her heart is troubled yet still she struggles on
Trying her hardest to feel like she belongs
The gypsy rose has made many mistakes
For each she’s paid and over again
In heart’s-blood, her duty to shed
And men she has come to dread
Their cruelty and fun when each day is done
Scarring her soul in ways that can’t be undone
The wind tells tales of the gypsy rose
Torn from her home and sent to a foreign land
Her dreams were shattered but not for long
The gypsy rose as wild as she is strong
Her heart is troubled yet still she struggles on
Trying her hardest to feel like she belongs
Each day she strives in order to survive
Only to fall more into depression
As this life takes its toll
Losing daily bits and pieces of her soul
Never to gain them back
Desperate now, those she loves she begins to attack
Downtrodden, she tosses herself at strange men’s feet
Given away each time like a piece of meat
Soon she’s lost all sense of self-worth
Her body aching and beginning to hurt
From all the abuse she’s making it take
From drugs to drinking, for pete’s sake.
The wind tells tales of the gypsy rose
Torn from her home and sent to a foreign land
Her dreams were shattered but not for long
The gypsy rose as wild as she is strong
Her heart is troubled yet still she struggles on
Trying her hardest to feel like she belongs
