I wrote this while watching my son last night.

Meaning of the Word dots

Childlike wonder at the sparkle deep within
Innocence in that mild gaze
He trusts me to keep him safe

Curiousity driving exploration of new things
Toddling rapidly around
In the shape of my son

Vigilant, ever watchful must I be
Ensuring his freedom from harm or calamity
Every tiny step he takes, my responsibility

This truly is what motherhood means.

Oh I love how the perception of your toddler is presented as curiosity & innocence in the shape of a mini-human. Good short poem, reminds me of my nieces...This one illustrates the point that poetry is extremely necessary & important, but are really just romantic thoughts that one jots down.
