    Description:
Several poems written January 2007. It truly was a magical month.

Sorry these are all in one post. But I don't feel like making them all individual. I just enjoy summing up the slices of this month in one pie.

    remind me

when you look into me, when you sing into me,
you make me analyze things. you make me choose.
when that moment comes, that night i will have no filters.
and i will blink alone, confess alone before you.

    The Unspoken Competition

    I love how my thoughts
    come out of your mouth.
The ugly truth I keep inside
    you gracefully let out.

Untitled [Response to the Wedding Song written for me by Anthony and Joe]

    I am tired
    And you have known
    But have you seen
the way you look at me
    And have you felt
the claws of an old joke
at the spine of love, whispering

    keep
    it,

    keep
    her

    clossss
    er.

    And having been kept,
    I have heard the whispers
    nearer and nearer,
    since you opened your mouth

with a gest, a request, a song to

    save
    her.
    Save

    [me].

[You will soon follow your heart's desire.]

A printed black rose speaks silently
    into a maddening, white heat.
Your eyes open at the sound
and with a smile you invite me
to bear my soul with you
in a way I promised never to.
"I am the judge of time," you say,
"Tell me your desire, it is slipping away."

I bow my head with heart ablaze
    avoiding truth, averting my gaze.
"I cannot," I tell you with everything I have,
and that is where I leave it, love and war be damned.
Your hand is not yet callused enough
and your heart lacking the scars rough,
    made by four neccesarry years
that awaken passion and rage-drowning tears.

    The question hangs
    where none has lingered before.
It consumes me like a kiss
as I flee your front door.

    For the first time ever,
    I just don't know why.
Since that night with the fever,
    it has just felt right.

And When the Doors Were Closed

    I went to sleep
    on the airs of hope
and woke not in your arms
    but in your world.
    And the flames
    that scarred an icy heart
    and the snow
    that cooled hasty passions
left in me this focal rage.

    Can you not see
that there is nothing else for me
    now?
Here, now, is my fury so strong,
    and it will make you
    love me again.
    You, who shared with me
a love so deep and unspoken
    so many years ago
    beneath those shaking lights.

    And their trembling
    will see us once more.

You Have Closed the Great Divide, My Love

    I don't know whether
    or not
    I should

    hope

    that you wonder why
    I stopped letting myself
    feel
    this
    way
    when

    you

    stopped letting yourself feel
    anything.

    Take a drink
    and you will taste
    the meaning of trying
    to stay awake,
    the meaning of
    swallowing hot dirt,
    the meaning of
    swallowing hopeless hurt.
