Part one: The Greeting
Sitting alone in my room, I start to realize I am being haunted by that same old familiar voice.
“Matthew, I know you can hear me. Why not give in to me? Come and embrace the dark bliss. You will be forever mine.” It starts chanting.
“No,” I say sitting below the only light in the room giving me comfort. “your not real, only in my mind.” At least that is what the doctor told me. Suddenly the light above me shatters and I begin to hear the creaking in the dark I was always afraid of. The kinds were you know someone is watching you.
“Really? I amaze even myself sometimes.”
“Its using the dark to scare me, just like last time.” I kept telling myself.
“Leave me alone!” I shouted.
“No Matthew, like your fathers before you, I will remain until the very end, the very end!”
“How do I get you out of my head?”
“You won’t,” It said with a desperate voice. “Never.”
“There is one way though.”
“You wouldn’t even dare, I know you. The only flaw with humans is they care far too much for meaningless things and ideas.”
“How do you know?”
“I am your thoughts, your dreams, and your nightmares.”
“Why won’t you leave me alone?”
“You can’t escape me Matthew, give in to the darkness!”
“Never!”
“Yes!”
“No, I know what I must do to rid myself of you for this is worse than death!”
“Ah, No! Stupid puppet!”
That was the first time I died.
“I am not done with you Matthew.”
