This is how I felt on my first day of high school. I actually really enjoy it now but at first I was overwhelmed

    Hello high school
    Goodbye junior high

    Hello strangers
    Goodbye friends

    Hello confusion
    Goodbye familiarity

    Hello insults
    Goodbye encouragements

    Hello profanity
    Goodbye innocence

    Hello violence
    Goodbye safety

    Hello real world
    Goodbye sheltered life

That is so meaningful to me ... I raised some kids and I remember starting high school myself; well I took it on quite happily but your poem here still describes it!

You are so articulate that I wonder if the strangers might not have been a bit overwhelmed by you ... but you probably didn't notice that!
