    Purpose

    A blade of grass
    works its way
    up through the soil
    to seek the day.

    A brilliant shaft
    of emerald green
    reaching up
    barely seen.

    Heaven bent
    it pushes on
    through the dark
    till light is won.

    So easily cut
    but never ceasing
    never daunted
    always reaching.

    A tender shoot
    not strong like me
    but firm resolve
    will make it free.

    The lesson we can
    learn from grass
    is winning ground
    need not be fast.

Great! Nice simple poem with an awesome message!

    Missed these... =]

I also liked the imagery and your choice of wording.
I liked how such a small simple poem had such a big message; similar to how such a small blade of grass can withstand the world.

      i like it.
i just reminds me of a simple cute poem to tell a child.
which is very important to write for the people with very limited understanding.
i haven't commented in a long time, so i'm really rusty.

    Peace<3

This is excellent, Jerilynn! I'm an ole country boy, so I can relate readily to this!! This poem not only has good rhyme and rhythm, but has a lighthearted philisophical message that is delightful!

    Well done!!
