    dotsAwful Needdots

    This awful need
    Crawls through
    Every fiber of my being
    Clutching me
    By the throat,
    Causing me to gasp
    With itís all consuming power.
    Itís shadow,
    Hovers over me
    Blocking out the light,
    Until all I see
    Is the darkness.
Will I ever find the weapon
    To destroy this intruder?
    Does one exist?
Will I wake one day and find
    That itís only power
    Was in my fear?
    Will I overcome and escape
Or will I continue to live
    With this awful need?

Everyone has this type of conflict but very few can describe it as smoothly as you've just done, and because of that this poem caught me. love it

Excellent write Jerilynn! Your verse describes those things that are worse in our fantasy or imagination than they ever could be in real world. There's always "something out there" for all of us! Lets all hope it never jumps out of the bushes for real and grabs us!!!
