    They walk
    Through the door
    And give me a hug.
    “Hey Mom,
    How Ya’ doin’?”
    These words as they
    Head for the kitchen.

    I follow them
    asking Mother questions
    and view their
    headless torso’s
    leaning into the fridge.
    “Got any pop?”
    “Can I have that burrito?”
    “Where is the salsa
    and the sour cream?”

    “I love you too honey.”
    I think as I get
    down a plate and glass
    watching him eat
    and talk animatedly
    with his mouth full,
    just catching up.

    Then he leaves.
    satisfied that he made
    his mother feel wanted
    with a little visit.
    I wash the dishes
    and put them away.
    Then I turn and see
    the collection of magnets
    on my fridge
    funny sayings,
    picture frames
    some holding notes or reminders.

    Refridgerators seem to
    collect a lot of these
    I keep them around
    because they each
    have a memories
    and they make me smile.
    just like my kids.
    “Hey Mom,
    got anything to eat?”
    Here we go again.

Ha! This is warm, friendly, and just delightful! You put us right there in your kitchen with you, hearing and watching a warm family happening that is familiar, and making us all feel knowingly, noddingly, at home!!

Very good descriptions of the small things in life that often pass us by. It made me smile thinking about it. I live across country from most of my family so no one comes to visit but, our fridge is covered in all the babe's pictures and what have you so it made me think of them! I enjoyed the visual images very much!

Be kind, take a few minutes to review the hard work of others <3
It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
