    things are looking up
    even in the past
glimpses of this crossed my lids
in dreams, perhaps, but they were there
    flitting somewhere in the distance

although it rains, i see sunshine
    i am self-fulfilled, and i am worthy
there is nothing to hold me back now

    i never left that place
like the sculptor would with a block of clay
i chipped away the parts that weren't me

and i am so much the same
yet everyone thinks i am someone different
    they just never knew.

I loved these lines! Perhaps we're all sculptors of our own destiny and should do our best to chip off all the baggage that keeps us from leading fulfilling lives.

Yes, I did enjoy your poem and do encourage you to keep penning your thoughts.
