    -------------------------------------------

Would you buy an expensive box of chocolates, knowing that most of the chocolates inside are rotten?

Any consumer would obviously steer clear of such a purchase. It's a waste of money.

Yet the Bible says 'You were bought at a price...' (1 Corinthians 7:23)

Yes, people, all humanity have been bought at a dear price - by the blood of Jesus, with His very life.

And the most amazing thing is this: He already knew that we were like that box of chocolates, all rotten and stinky, and yet He chose to give up His life for us so we could be saved. Reconciled to God. Made clean.

To all the detractors out there who claim that God is arrogant and unfair for saying that Jesus is the only way to heaven, I ask you this: Would an arrogant, unfair God die for us? I don't think so.

To all those who say that God still has much to 'prove' to humanity, I say this: He has spoken to us, given us His Word, suffered for us, and given us His very life. What more do we need? His miracles are evident, if only you would open your eyes to see. He is real, if only you would choose to believe.

We are less than nothing, but He gave up everything for us. Brothers and sisters, what would we give up for Him?

I'm sorry you got such mean spirited comments. You'll have to forgive them for they are blind and can
not see. I enjoyed your piece and found to be full
of Wisdom. To answer the last question, EVERYTHING!

    Love of Christ,

I seriously don't understand why people have to get on their soapbox and tell you that this is preaching... it's like television... turn it off if it doesn't appeal... close your mouth if something nasty is gonna come out. At least, that's what I think. Sorry, I just had to say... chill the fuck out people.

Onto this. We've had discussions already on Jesus--my stance, yours, and we've come to the conclusion that we won't budge, haha. However, I respect your opinion and any other religious views... as long as it doesn't conflict with my whole ideal of karma/don't do to others what you wouldn't like done back to yourself sorta thing... y'know.

This reminds me of Forrest Gump's catchphrase (as a sidenote, I still roll my eyes when someone says that... it's the most infuriatingly cheesy one-liner ever). So, I'm not sure if that association is a good thing or not. Still, you get your point across.

As I've said, we've talked this over, and I'll bring it up yet again: all these words in the Bible (to me) were not written by God... they were written by humans, plain and simple. I refuse to believe any text is spiritually ordained above others due to the assumption by the author/s that this comes from a divine source. It's circular reasoning to me... it just doesn't cut it.

But, we all have our own path, this I've always known. This works for you. My path is my own, and I struggle, but I rejoice. God... is many things to many people--to some, totally undefined, just a feeling that everything will work out if you live life as beautifully as you can and want it to be. I've always been drawn to obviously spiritual types, of all denominations... it's that search for beauty and truth and knowledge and the endless questions which fascinates me.

There. I preached right back at ya. Haha.
    Take it easy, Miss Gan.

      This isn't talent.
    This isn't writing.

    This is preaching.

And not very well "spoken" preaching either.

I thought this was a site for talented and not-so-talented writers to waste time reading and writing the ramblings of others like them.

Not a place for religous fanatics to preach.

Mmkay. I really don't know what to say. You should have put this under misc as it is not prose. And I'm hearing a lot about this Jesus died for us thing lately. Like yeah, I don't consider any death to be a good thing. How has the death of a man, or son of god whateva, in horrible pains on a wooden cross actually helped anyone?
