Keep your sanity
in a little white box
just within reach
behind the hazy shadows
of a morning summer sun.
When no one is looking, and
you find the need to unravel...
give a gentle tug
on the tattered ribbon
that holds you all inside
...and just let yourself go!
In this poem, I envisioned a whimsical scene of a typically serious adult or teenager leaping into the summer air after a long and difficult day. It really is a cute poem and it sounds very nice off the tongue.
I also for some reason picture a top; the tops where you either pull a string to get it going or ones with ripcords.
