A Midsummer Night's Dream -------------------------------------------
I lay in my bed
Exhausted
Nearly too tired to move
Yet my eyes won't close
Wide open
Darting about the room
Observing useless things
Unknown details
Different shades in a paintings eye
How the window shows
A midnight blue sky
With a beautiful moon
And stars
As plentiful as the sea
Small
Singular points
Yet each a point
On their own
A singular point of reason
But together
A beautious sight
Worthy of Shakespeare's
Wonderful observation
Thoughts begin to overwhelm me
And my eyes begin to droop closed
Though I can no longer see
My mind creates beautiful prose
I sigh and fall into deep slumber
A small smile plastered to my face
My thoughts free
As free as a fish in the sea
Created just for me
What a wonder
What power
All caused by
A midsummer nights dream.
I always hate to say this for fear of sound like a complete idiot....anyway I llike the imagery of this piece and I think the poem itself was pretty much based around it. I really love finding poems like this and id love too see a lot more on this site, so well done. I think its alright to give compliments sometimes
