    -------------------------------------------

the kingdom of heaven is the outside
of this tiny sacred box we share
    velvet walls twined
    together like spider webs
and shards of prism glass strewn
    across the crimson asphalt streets

we hold hands at last as our bodies rot
together, like raisins in the sun
our souls seep through the cracks of its remains
    and we bask in light
like a beautiful corpse swathed in blood

they say we are entombed in here

    but we are alive

and our lives are not in vain.

A remarkable comparison of the "hell" that real life here on earth can sometimes (and in some circumstances) be, and the heaven that awaits us mysteriously on the "outside"! Remarkable work!

Ah, the first poem form the "outside"! Most deftly done! A poem both dark and bright... bravo... bravo... bravo... (great to "see" you again!)
