something about shiva.

Your Blue Throat

I have fermented expectations,
ripe with infection
and keen dissatisfaction.

You’re a new breed of man,
but you bow down
to extinction
every time I blink my eye.

You’re extinguishable,
but you don’t need my help.

You’ll manage to die out
all on your own.

i saw the other comments on this...and yes, it could have to do with alcoholism...but not necessarily...

i think it has more to do with ego....and selfishness....and you don't meet my expectations..which are simply this...

give something of yourself to we can be balanced in our love...

obviously you can't do i will keep my distance and watch you die out...all by your lonesome...

this is terrific stuff, Lucy Diamond. makes me want to read more of your work...and i in fact.

It almost reminds me of a reverse Dr. Who feel. Instead of admiration for the whims, stupidity, and ongoing experiments people do tot hemselves just to know, it's the opposite... or maybe Sci-Fi has just gotten to my head.

Either way, it's good and I do get the idea of alchoholism now that it's put in my mind, but I also see it as response to global warning or any other self-inflicted problem for all humanity; like a cynical god's point o' view.

I am assuming by the opening "fermented expectations" and closing "You'll manage to die out all on your own" that this has something to do with alcoholism?

The feelings I get from this are overwhelming disappointment in another human being. Very powerful. Nicely done.
