My chair squeaks
as the cricket eeks
its chirpy song into my ear.
I press on though,
and string my bow
to shoot for some meat, a deer.
I cannot kill
for my belly to fill.
This cricket took my cheer.
His rhytm it spent
the message he sent,
and I found it rather queer
That this cricket should stay
For many a day
And CHIRP a CHIRP,
my computer to usurp,
To keep me from a deer
His songy song
that seems so long
into my unwilling ear.
