    Quietly screaming of desperation,
"I wonder who will see my show tonight?"
If only I could find my way
    through the shadows,
    they're like lofty stage curtains.
I'm fighting to make my way off the stage, but
    the audience is watching,
    always there to applaud.
    I'm discovered by their appreciation
And that keeps me dancing, dancing...

"Was I made to feel so naked?"

Life always feels like a show,
    but the curtain never closes.

Suddenly I stopped and looked closer...
    "If I am on stage,
why are they the ones wearing the masks?"

Because they don't want to be recognized any more than you would; it just happens that you are the one exposed to them (family/friends/ even church) and life feels like a carousel of lunacy and/or futility without something to believe in. Or at least something to live for. That's the impression I gather from this write. Not only is it meant to cause the casual reader to consider their spiritual condition, but it also reflects on those who claim faith and still feel empty.

    Nicely done, Tom.
