Fortune Smiles Upon the Fools
By Jason C. Clement.
Where did all of the good times go?
Watching the sun dance to the radio;
Night came, and we were wishing on the stars,
hoping that we would make it more than far.
Then I fell asleep one day,
Drifted out further to sea;
You became so far away,
Temperament enclosed on me.
With each broken moment, I’m learning to live,
with each fragile heartbeat, I’m learning to give;
I’m hoping in your eyes its truth that I see,
‘Cause you’re the one that I need to breathe.
I wish that I knew half of what I knew then,
but I got lost – don’t know where and don’t know when;
Still you found me, and your smile promised it’d be alright,
and now I’d stay forever, just with you clothed in night.
‘Cause I fell asleep on that day,
And drifted out to open sea;
But you came, from far away,
And your smile promised me.
With each broken moment, I’m learning to live,
with each fragile heartbeat, I’m learning to give;
I’m hoping in your eyes its truth that I see,
‘Cause you’re the one that I need to breathe. |
