    dotscostuming the airdots

    it was no wonder
    that the brief jewels
    became their eyelids
having no other way to tell
    the living from the dead
    outside of the shiny
    visible testaments
    to the insides
    of milky bluish hearts
    where the circles come
    & make foolish tongue wagglers
    out of even the best
    of our brain-stormed poets
    in the dark.

there seems to be a war,
    that leaves behind the bodies
    of our loves,
like the whites of ocean crests
    into the perfect crystal air,
    that goes on,
    despite geometry,
    inside our secret brains
    till it reaches
    our shaking fingers
    & beyond.

    i've tried to peel back
    the structures of memory
    & move
    into the orange river
    of my childhood
    where i'd costume the air
    into caterpillar highways,
    watch the trees bleed out
    into ancient insect cities
    & every day
    ran into the other
with a smooth luxury of simple words,
    but i find i'm chasing
    skipping pebbles
    into places i can't go.

there is something that i'm missing
that i can feel in the cool evenings
    encoded on the breeze.
    i'll follow the clouds
till i find some way of becoming new...
what i find along the way,
    will puzzle even me
    to rough the storms
    of summer
    towards some holocaust
    of thought.
    in the swaying trees
    propels me towards relief...
