    Description:
Kara has been in the Psychiatric unit for a year now, won't they let her out? Why won't demons stop asking her to help them? What could a human like herself do anyway?
    Is she even human anymore?
Is she even part of the world anymore?

Help me! The demons are screaming in my ear, if you could hear! Listen, listen, please, Help me!

Drip, drip, drip, the sound of an improperly turned off tap echoed through the empty halls. Nurses' white soled shoes silently scuffed the floors, their shirts and pants swishing against one and another.
The sound of a stethoscope lightly hitting the clear buttons on a doctor's long white jacket pounded into her head.
Closer, closer, come closer, her mind called jokingly, Please come closer we won't hurt you, love please come. Help us.
She refused to move from her spot. Lying on the carpeted floor of her room, with a thin sheet like blanket cuddled into her arms. Arms covered in large gashed that scarred or were still trying to heal.
Her stringy black hair hung in her face, covering her eyes. She wanted the noise to stop, the door to close, but a large metal plate prevented the door from closing. Safety reasons.
As if she could break the large window anyway, she stared at the help button string hanging over the bed she no longer lay in. She desperately wanted to press the flashing red button. Though the anger of the Nurses' when she had first done it was not worth it.
    "Kara?"
So loud, all the noise was so loud, why was he yelling at her?
"Kara, breakfast is ready, come take your pills."
She sat up, and held her hands to her ears, her own voice the loudest even when she whispered.
    "Can I leave today?"
    "Not today Kara, come eat."
She stood, not wanting to eat, or swallow those pills, but the doctor told her it would make the demons go away. Maybe then, she could leave, and everything would be silent again.
"Just plain old cereal huh dear?" One of the nurses asked handing her a tray with an awkward plastic cover.
"Yes.." Kara barely spoke, since she couldn't cover her ears, she was afraid she might go deaf just speaking.
    "Did you take your pills?"
She nodded, and took off. Rather quickly, just enough for the nurse to stop her, and ask her to not spill her tray. She shut her door as far as it would go.
Sitting on the window sill, with her feet pulled close and she pulled off the top of her breakfast. A bowl with cereal sat there, with a small carton of milk beside it. She poured the milk in, then took the spoon given and ate while staring out the window.
"Know what?" She said quietly to herself, "I think it might rain today, can't you see the clouds in the sky demons?"
No reply came, so she put the empty bowl back down and left the tray where it was.
Within' the small room was a closet, the clothes bar low to the ground so one could not hang themselves off it. Kara from lack of wanting food, could now fit easily into it. She would sit there and listen to the sounds of the world.
A singing bird, a crying demon, a walking nurse, a muttering human like herself. She wondered if anyone here could also hear these crying demons, but the doctor would huff and shuffle her back to her room before she could even get an answer from someone.
One boy gave her an odd look, he opened his mouth, but was pulled away by a rather large lady. Kara had to cover her ears tightly when the lady spoke.
"Leave my son alone." She snarled like this were some jungle fight.
Seems he's living with the demon.. Kara had thought at the time, and giggled to herself, making this jolly looking lady more angry. As jolly as she looked, her face was red with anger. A doctor quickly shooed Kara away and apologized for her. Kara turned back to look at the boy, who nodded.
What did that mean? Yes, he could hear the demons? Yes, my mother is protective? Yes, she should apologize for my rude behavior?
What rude behavior, she asked an honest question. The doctor scolded her later, telling her that rude behavior was unacceptable.
The demons blocked out his voice.
Eat him, eat them all. Eat that lady..even her fat. Eat it all. They taste good, humans taste very good. Won't you save us?
"I'm a human as well," Kara replied, the doctor still ranting. "What can I possibly do for you?"
The doctor huffed, and left her in her small "dorm" area where she and one other person stayed. This person never left their room, they had food and pills taken to them.

Beautiful one, please help us, save us from this world, can't we go home like you?
Kara turned over and hit the floor, she couldn't sleep. The demons talked the most during the night, the doctors came to wake her later than the other because by the time light came, she was just falling asleep from all the commotion the demons had made during the night.
"You should shut up, and let me sleep. A tired human can do next to nothing, so don't even think of me saving you unless you let me sleep. Now hush." She called, while putting an index finger to her lips to signal silence.
By the time late morning hit, she woke herself up and listened to the loud sounds of humans. Every movement, every breath, made a sound.
Why couldn't anything just be silent anymore?

I want to sleep forever.. She had told her mother before cutting at her wrists like the scars and scabs showed. Once I am finally asleep, the demons will be quiet, the humans will be quiet, and in heavens silence I will hear the angels' music.
