    -------------------------------------------

    darling starling:

this wreck of a storm came in
    & made proper wet
    of it all.
    it was perfect somehow.
    then it ghosted
    out of our fair city,
    reminding me of you.

    that's the way it goes
when the air moves one way,
    i move another
    & the mood sets in
    like wolves
    who've found snow
    for the pawing.

    i made poems
    out of the wind today
    just for you.
    i was the only one
    who could read them
    so it turns out
    they were just for me.

    i wonder about you
& about whether you think of the stars
    where you are as compared
    to the ones above me.
but i think i'm the only one
    who thinks of such things.
    i hang cut-out birds
    from the ends of strings
    dangling from the reddist heart
    you've ever seen.

    but i'm a fool.
    i exist between
    the lips
    where the words rest
    & whispers form
    the outline of a kiss.
    it's nighttime now
    so i'm going to sink
into the pink sapphire of evening
    while i can.

    words lose me
    when i think of you,

    blackbird

Be kind, take a few minutes to review the hard work of others <3
It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
