Is america truly the land of the free?
Everyday I watch the news, and everyday I become a little more disgusted with the land of the free.
Call me crazy, but I still like Bush.
Why? you may ask
Because the only reason we have a president is to have someone to blame when something goes wrong.
Did bush single handedly send us to war? No.
He had a whole nation, a whole congress telling him what to do. Telling him what America needed. Like a father, he wanted to protect his child, his nation. The country that so many places so called "try to be like."
Is this the land of the free. A land where we can do anything we want? Some may say yes. But is it really freedom when it has a price?
Can you drive 30 minutes away to watch a movie in the theaters? Sure. You have that freedom. But with gas at $4 a gallon, and movies at $8 can you even afford that freedom? Who can truly afford freedom?
Bill Gates can. Did you know that microsoft is selling to China. Great, we give them the internet but there is a catch. They have programmed out the word "freedom." In china you can not type the word freedom and find any information? America the land of the free, the land trying to make Iraq a truly democratic nation is selling to China to help prevent freedom. Anything for a buck? Is that the presidents doing? No, so you can't blame him for this. The person to blame is perhpas looking back at you in the mirror. Look at your children. Look long and hard at what you brought into this world.
To tell the truth, I would be terrified to bring a child into this world. A world where 17 children make a pact to become pregnant by the age they are 18. I'm sickened at the thought that young girls would weigh their self confidence on how many guys want to sleep with them. I am sickened to think of the girl that will do anything to fit in. One girl slept with a homeless man to become pregnant like her friends. I used to hate when my mom would say "If everyone jumps off a bridge, would you do it too?" And I would say "Depends on how high the bridge is." Or "depends on how deep the water is." But never has that statement been more true. The need to fit in made some girl sleep with a homeless man to be like everyone else. At this point, consider that bridge she's jumping off of, instant death on impact.
I have that freedom. I have the freedom to voice my opinion. But a corporation bought utube in hopes of stopping the spread of what: Janet jackson's boobs. Utube pulled anything anti-clinton from the air. Freedom of speech? You have the freedom of speech as long as it doesn't interfere with anyone elses freedom. Everyday people interfer with my freedom. People on their cell phones interfere with my freedom of peace of mind. Do I really want to know about your mom's warts? or a guy you slept with on saturday when you got wasted at a party? His name? That's right, it was so unimportant to you , that you forgot his name. We are living with no morals. That's what makes this the land of the free. Why because heavens forbid you have morals to prevent your freedom. Heavens forbid you have morals that tell you not to have sex with anything that walks. And then you're pissed when you have an STD and wonder why people aren't making cures for your illness. News flash. Natural selection. This is the world's way of flushing out the "weak". And I know that's harsh of me. But I was pissed when I had to listen to a girl complain about getting crabs when she slept with a guy, who didn't tell her he had it. And then she gave it to the next guy she slept with before she knew within a week of getting it.
they talk about a great epidemic coming within the next few years, because one comes every 70 years or something. Maybe it's already here. We have cancer, and aids, and everything knocking out thousands of people a year. Nobody deserves to die because of their life choices. We have the freedom to live life the best way we are provided to live. But freedom has a price. Freedom has a price paid in money. But freedom also has the price of life. Scary thought?
well at least you know 17 more babies will be coming out maine. Remember that those kids are the future of this so called great land. A land I can barely afford to live in. A land with no morals. A land where we can blame the parents. A land where we can blame everyone but ourselves for our unfortune. |
