    -------------------------------------------

    A beautiful staircase resides
    Lingering in a deceased ballroom,
    Waiting;
    Praying for its ruin.

    Days passó
    Weeks turn into months
    And years turn into decades;
    But the staircase still stands;
    Not a scratch or chip in sightó
    Nor a beauty in sight to climb its ornate cloudsó

    Silence nowó
    A figure is envisioned advancing;
    A woman carried in the arms of a shadow ascend,
    It is hope himself;
    Locking his arms around an empty soul.
    She had waited all this time for her loveró
    But he had failed to reveal himself to her.
    Hopes crushed.
    Desire fades.

    As the shadow climbs,
    The staircase drowns in its own blood;
    Rust and paint corrode
    And the angels die.

    But what of the woman and hope?
    Nothing could ever touch themó
    For he has taken her to heavenó
    Where all of her hope resides.

    Be kind, take a few minutes to review the hard work of others <3
    It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
