    dotsLove's enddots
    -------------------------------------------

In a letter, you wrote farewell
    Without a reason,
Without a hope to cling on.
I call you out in anguish
In the middle of the night
    Whatever happened to those words
    Of eternal togetherness and love?
Those words sublime all gone astray
    Leaving stunned void behind them
    Tell me something, anything
    I know you have thoughts
Like those marbles in that hat
    That are hard to retrieve
    But please do not leave
    Without some kind of word
    To drive me in aversion
    And go beyond denial
    To kill this pain inside

Hope can be overrated. It can be a source of great strength and courage, but it also can be a source of great pain as well.

Betrayal is one of the bitterest things in live. This poem brings back a lot of experiences for me. You've captured that bitter taste well here.

I will say that I think it doesn’t really have that "finished" feel to it. I would consider if I had truly pored out all there is on this one.

Still as is, it is an unpleasant read. Which is what you were going for, bitter, was it not?
