    dotsDaddy's Fallen Angeldots

I wish you could have met your mother
I hope you'd have been like her too
She had innocence the day i met her
I'd like to think she'd have given that to you
Though she had grown up fighting
She always wound up on her feet
I know you would have loved your mother
It's too bad you didn't have the chance to meet

I loved you when you were inside the womb
Now i hold you in my heart instead of my hands
I walk around with this open wound
I hold you in my heart instead of my hands

I hope you would have loved your father
I'd have done my absolute best
I would have taught you about love and honor
    Virtues and living with respect
I'd want you to be a light unto this world
That seems like it's always so dark
But fate dealt me it's cold, cold hand
And it took away your beating heart

I choke back a tear, i feel the regret
I hang my head in shame, and see the cold sweat
I pick up my head, i look at the cross
Can't clear my mind cause i know the cost
    Who am I
    Who was I
    Who am I
Who was I to play god

This is simply beautiful in its heart-rending openness and grief. This is so personal that it's hard to really be impartial to critique it. The only thing that I had a hard time with is the last line, because there is nothing else in the song that lets us know why you feel the guilt or what it's about. I realize that the line has a lot of meaning for you, but I just wasn't sure it's signifiance to the rest of the lyrics.

Be kind, take a few minutes to review the hard work of others <3
It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
