once again
we’ve found ourselves here
beside a candle burning in remembrance
of the path and truth abandoned
in the mist of our journey
smoke rises like ghosts
obscure as hope
romance had bound us together
in strokes as thick as paint on canvass
intellect has severed and rationalized
chained our souls and crucified
our intent to dream
buffaloes once roamed
frontiers vast and bottomless as skies--
their skulls buried deep beneath
the earth blanked with snow
glazed with ice
others hang like trophies on the walls
evolution is not just a theory--
it is an entity that breaths flames
bred by industries, institutions and insanity
caged by ideals and distracted by lies
life is dissected by the magnifying glass
underneath the sun
this resonates, makes me sad and angry and yet hopeful that this status quo may be changed for the better; such idealism is poison to most but one i'll gladly sup from, knowing that there are others like you that burn for something... so much better somehow.
And does the defining difference between intellect and knowledge involve purpose (something ants and humans marching on an endless treadmill wouldn't understand)? You seem to enjoy exploring profound thoughts, which is undestandable considering some of your recent experiences with war and family. For others, love, family, God and honor seem to be forgotten - or at least not as important as they once were. And there is a lament throughout this post for all the connections that have been severed.
