What is the mark of value in a Person?
"It's strange to me how I can be so dirty and yet my soul can feel so cleansed. I wonder why nice clothes and new shoes, clean skin and fixed hair--why do these things tell me my value? Why have we been so deeply convinced that our value depends upon the way we look, smell, the things we own... how well trimmed we keep our fingernails?"
"I am so tired of bowing down to these false forms of security and worth. And God, please let me stop and never again hold others to these superficial standards again."
What I know to be true:
1.) Every Man was Created Equal.
2.) Every Man is made in the Image of God.
3.) The value of Man is not and cannot be measured through the eyes of men.
"There is something deeply beautiful about having dirt-stained hands and feet. Scrapes, cuts, bruises, bug-bites, and a scruffy face mark this God formed body of mine. And I am no less valuable on this day and in this form than on any other."
I Samuel 16:7
"Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord lookds at the heart."
