"Did my heart love till now? forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night."
When I started reading this poem, this is the first thing that ran through my head. And like poor Romeo, this too had a tragic end. But I rather like it. I am curious though, why the double spaced lines? Upon first reading, it somewhat distracted and made it a little difficult to read. At least for me anyway. Oh well. To each his own. I did like the poem though, and look forward to the day when his laughter be heard throughout.
this search for love is truly sweet'n'sour as you say, one that can drive anyone to sure madness. i know. i've been to that place and back, a journey i wouldn't wish on my most bitter enemy.
one could say, "chin up lad, plenty of fish and all that. the night is young. carpe diem. etc etc", but that deals in tired idioms too broad for the uniqueness of one's situation.
this reminds me of that clapton song, 'wonderful tonight'. ever heard it? it's a classic.
