For the butterfly to emerge
a caterpillar must surrender

For the cherries to come
blossoms drop and wither

Listen to their lessons
lean into the whisper

To me, this is a classic. This is something that gives a lesson in a beautiful wrapper. I enjoyed this and will certainly be back to read more from you!

i'm gonna start with a hmmm... as well. only because i am sitting here reading this and wondering; does the caterpillar actually surrender? i mean, he doesn't die, right? doesn't he just change? i guess i'm just having a hard time with the idea of a caterpillar submitting itself to the act of becoming something as lovely as a butterfly...

still this has a nice quiet sound. i love the last line.

Hmmm.. I guess sometimes less is more. This poem is about the "circle of life". I actually really like it. Short as it is, it gets the point across. You use the right words to convey the idea. Very good.
