Gandhi (and I think I spelled that correctly, damn notepad and being an American High school graduate) said 'I like your Christ... I do not like your Christians, they are so unlike Christ' or something rather similar to it. Well, here's a perfect fucking example of Christian douchebaggery and it's fucking finest.
    -------------------------
    DID YOU KNOW THESE FACTS?
    I SURE DIDNT TILL NOW

Death is certain but the Bible speaks about untimely death!
Make a personal reflection about this.....
Very interesting, read until the end.....

It is written in the Bible (Galatians 6:7):
'Be not deceived; God is not mocked:
    for whatsoever a man sow,
    that shall he also reap.

Here are some men and women
    who mocked God :

    John Lennon (Singer):
Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said:
'Christianity will end, it will disappear.
I do not have to argue about
    that. I am certain.
Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him' (1966).
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil ):
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency.
Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.

Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):
During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ),
while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said:'God, that's for you.'
He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible manner.

The man who built the Titanic
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be.
With an ironic tone he said:
'Not even God can sink it'
The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic

    Marilyn Monroe (Actress)
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show.
He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her.
After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said:
    'I don't need your Jesus'.
A week later, she was found dead in her apartment

    Bon Scott (Singer)
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:
'Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, down the highway to hell'.
On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.

    Campinas (IN 2005)
In Campinas , Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend.....
The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car:
'My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You.'
She responded: 'Only If He (God) Travels In The Trunk, Cause Inside Here.....It's Already Full '
Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died,
the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact.
The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer)
said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written.
In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.

Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus.

Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.

    'Jesus'

PS: If it was a joke, you would have sent it to everyone.
So are you going to have courage to send this?.

I have done my part, Jesus said
'If you are embarrassed about me,
I will also be embarrassed about you before my father.'
You are my 8 in 8 seconds. I am not breaking this. No way!
I'M TOLD THIS WORKS!!!!! Bishop T.D. Jakes '8 Second Prayer.' Just repeat this prayer and see how God moves!!

'Lord, I love you and I need you, come into my heart, and bless me, my family, my home, and my friends, in Jesus' name. Amen.'

    ----------------------

GO TEAM right? For fuck's sake. PLEASE tell me what you thing is, I am dying to know if there is any twat out there who is stupid enough actually believe this bigoted tripe.

And yes I am a Christian.

if God were a God of revenge, we would have been gone the second our little 3 year old lips lisped the word, "No" to our mum the first time.

mock God? who doesnt mock God every single day, a thousand times over?

this reminds me of an evangelism technique called "the way of the master" isnt that ridiculous? spreading the gospel has a formula now. but basically you get a random person and say, "lets just pretend the bible is true, and that you are a sinner.." then the person of course is going to defend themself, you just insulted them, so the lil evangelist says, "well have you ever lied?" if theyre honest they say yes. "have you lusted, gotten angry, stolen... etc." then the happy christian proceeds to tell the poor fellow that he's just been proven a sinner and that he's going to rot in Hell. so pray with me! (big smile) --id be tempted to punch him in the face.

stuff like this makes me rant too. ha. but we can so something about it, the world will know we're real by our Love. so love. even the morons who drive around with "honk for Jesus" stickers and flip off the guy that cuts them off or drives too slow. love love love.

    peace and love. kt

As you can see, if you expect a review, write about religion. Write about God. Write about Jesus. Write about any number of worshipped persons.

Each and every individual person is going to have a belief of their own. You may belong to one individual religion, group, church...but you're going to have differing thoughts.

    It's amazing.

I read the first paragraph, about John Lennon...and I gave up. Not given to any fact about your writing, sources or technique. No, simply because religion is boring. I have my faith in God, Jesus, The Holy Ghost, Him...because I choose to rely in what I believe is true.

Congrats on the piece, LJ. It truly deserves the critique and opinions it gets.

    PM me darnit!

Tripe? Really? Can you disprove a single one? Now I will tell you right now that I am a Christian and that I do not subscribe to this. I don't think GOD is in the active punishment business at this time. Mishaps and misfortune are an unfortunate circumstance of our world brought about by our own deeds and wickedness.

But some people when faced with all that is wrong in the world, all the in-equality and unfairness of the truth of life need something to cling to. Some people don't get the concept that all will be repaid in full once we shuffle off this mortal coil. Who are you to take that away from them? Who are you to get angry and judge?

Sounds to me like you need to worry about your own relationship with GOD and less about the relationship others have with him. Not that I have much room to talk, but it is pretty apparent that you are not current in your walk with GOD. Your attitude and your language show as much. Especially considering that you speak of your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Are you aware that simply going to church is not the same as being a Christian? Has anyone told you there is a huge difference between confessing Christ, and actually having faith? You my young friend need to do some soul searching. You really need to figure out where you are. You need to find your faith, or lack of it, and go from there. You really should take some time to ponder the big questions. Who are you? What do you want? Is there a GOD? What is your relationship to GOD? Where do you fit in the grand scheme of things? What is your purpose?

I was raised a Catholic in a Catholic nation. And I understand your concern all too well. Their three letter word of a God has become a tool for injecting fear instead of hope; a lame excuse for our own shortcomings and a meal ticket. God doesn't live in churches anymore, so a poet here once wrote. And if I may... "he lives in the tavern or in the sporting house."

In my case, he lives on the beach, in the underground cafes of our city drinking whatever compliments the season with people around him painting, writing poetry, doing stand up or kissing someone from the same sex and not being ashamed about it. He lives in a big white tent with women having a cook off to fight breast cancer. He lives in an old gym with underpaid doctors who don't really visit him anymore giving free medical check ups to inmates and abandoned children. He lives in a shanty that will easily crumble down at the face of a hurricane; with a family of four... one dad who does what he can and makes 50pesos a day, a mom who'd yell at her kids but can always be counted on to make sure that they are clean and they have something to eat, and two kids who've never heard of him but promises their parents that they're going to finish their studies and redeem them from that place.

That's where he is nowadays. I met him in a little girl selling flowers for her dying brother.

Ah... a rant based on a rant. You must have struck a chord.

you can link anything and tie anything and bring god into anything...

what about all those boys over the years who have tried to tell me that god told them i am the girl god has for them? i tell them i dont want anything to do with their conspiracy theories until god tells me the same thing about them [knowing full well that god hasnt said anything of the sort to them but they think they can win me with 'god said' statements...]

what about the people who say "the lord has called me to be a prophet" and yet every word they bring is hollow and lacking in the conviction of god?

what about the early church who, when in power, were corrupt and killed people who didnt convert to christianity but they did it in the name of god...

but i think you gotta wonder about these people who come up with connections like these here you have. its kinda like christian extremists... like islam suicide bombers in a way... using scare tactics to get peoples attention.

when the bible says to fear god its not talking about being scared of him as these connections seem to imply. it means to dread bringing shame to gods name.

the greatest single cause of athiesm today is christians who acknowledge jesus with their lips and deny him by their lifestyle. that is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.

i can see why you have moments of hating your faith. but stay true to God and he will bless you for your faithfulness

isn,t the god in the old testament a god of revenge.?

some interesting facts you have stated here.
    superstition, coincidence, who knows.
you say that lennon told an interviewer in 1966 the beatles were/are more famous than jesus.after that he was killed, shot 6 times. (the 6th commandment "thou shall not kill".)john lennon was killed in 1980. i don,t think god would have waited 14 years to take revenge on lennon, going by the way he acted in the old testament. but who knows maybe he has mellowed out a bit since those days.

    interesting thoughts
    take care
