So it seems it's that time of year once again, The frost on my breath and rustle of leaves, Confirming my suspicions. Indigo skies coated with lackluster gray clouds, The dying trees saying farewell until next year, It's all too familiar. Soon comes the blankets of snow highlighting the land, Not a sound in the world disrupts the infinite tranquility, So untouchable. And so once again I'll get lost in the beauty, Trying to unravel the sounds, the smells, the taste, The heartbreak it brings. For too many years have I wondered and wandered, But the answers nature holds continue to evade me, And I'm left to dream. A peaceful dream, filled with quiet songs, Begging that I leave it all a mystery, And once more, I shall agree. And you shall leave me to dream, Softly, quietly, Captivated. |
The Imagery is wonderful. As for logic your poem is very concise and fluid. From a feelings stand point, the imagery stirs a lot of emotions.| Posted on 2008-11-30 00:00:00 | by Dorian Grey | [ Reply to This ] | I liked the way this gave me the feeling that comes with the winter.. | Though I don't agree with the 'dying trees'. They sleep, that's all :) | Posted on 2008-11-30 00:00:00 | by WeirdNormality | [ Reply to This ] | |
