She unwittingly looked towards the sky
Only to gaze oblivion in the eye
Teetering on the edge of oblivion
A gust of threats pushing her
The threshold only growing closer
Ground beneath her cracking and giving way
Voices barking orders to only jump
As a thousand wounds open up in her
Hives of blows brought down
Her battered, bloody body twitching
Half-lidded eyes counted among the flies
Buzzing already ringing in her ears
Growing louder still
Whirlwind shouts more like solemn whispers
Tendrils from the sky creeping forward
Begging her to give in
To no longer fight the pull
Foundation finally falling
The mountain of resolve crumbles
Spiralling her into the abyss
What was meant to be a death rattle
Becomes a gurgle
Spilling warm red from her mouth
Wretching all life away
A final cry to the sky while weeping inside
Shaking hands reaching
Hoping to find a final hope
Between Heaven, Hell, and High tides
From Gods to insects
Cold fingers wrapping around her
Taking her to a place far from pain
When the grasp was broken
From darkness, he answered her call
Cutting through eternity till reality returned
Ripping the throats that ordered her
Breaking arms that came down
Within his embrace was she calm
Warmth returning to her face
Her first and her last
Future and her past
But nothing’s meant to last
A promise of return
When many seasons pass
