What is love to most people?
    Man and woman only,
though your heart may feel differently?
    That's not love.
    Having your heart forced into
    someone's hands as it reaches
    out to someone else's?
    That's not love.
Is is wrong to love even though
the one you love isn't "Bible approved"?
    "Follow your heart"
How many of us can do that?
In manyplaces it's against the law
    for people to do so.
    That's not love.
Love is a thing to cherrish
    and to hold
    no matter the gender.
It's a beat of the heart,
a blink of an eye; natural.
Would you take away our air?
    Our food?
    Our life?
    Love is all of these.
Why deny someone the right to have it?

It can be a poem for the oppressed and lost, that's what gives it extra shimmer I suppose.

Bravely put down, like it had to be done.
Sometimes people get love misunderstood, as of it is for just two people or soul mates when really it's bigger than one thinks.

It quietly announces that you should give or show love to those who are labeled different by society's standards of acceptance and that there are groups, large numbers of people who have no right to opinion really, no right to show their love for certain things, even when the government has done so in taking such rights away.

Strong awareness of love, with social feel.

I hate it when people get mocked for their sexuality, especially since so often it's people I'm supposed to look up to, such as my family. It makes me want to punch someone. I have a lot of bi friends and hate it when people do such idiotic things as mock them for who they are. I'm sorry your friend had to go through that.

The one you love isn't "bible-approved?"" Beautiful line, short, simple and sweet. And seriously, the Bible approves polygamy and sex slaves....... yeah, you don't see anyone obeying THAT anymore!

Beautiful. Loved it. Feel the same way.
I have one like this, though it has a more bitter ring to it
Keep up the awesome work, and I'll keep reading
