    Ankh Amon - Ra

Morning to the gateway of the sun
    Set between lantern sea skies
The magic of those Egyptian eyes
    Their incantation has begun
    Turning worlds of one
    Washes through my mind
    Azure beaches in the cloud

Focus zenith hidden in the line
Where night has drawn her time

By the sanctum of the free
    Ancient memories
    Settle with antediluvian leaves
    Pages in their wings
    Roll through centuries
    Turning worlds of one
    Waves mystic in my mind
    Azure beaches in the skies

    And the keening Earth resounds
Draws their message to the ground

The flights are on their way
    Silken veils where lovers pray
Temple pillars shafting from the shade
    Tuning worlds of one
    Their incantation has begun
    Sonic oscillation in my mind
    Azure beaches in the sky

Sustaining the passage in the lines
Where night once drew her time

Their flight is on its way
    When quiet lovers pray
    Shaping temples through the clouds
    Dancing constellations to the ground
    Between the sun skies sea
The inner sanctum of the free

    Turning worlds of one
    This incantation has begun

egypt and its history and myths has always held a special place in my heart since i was little. i'm not sure why i've always been drawn to it, but i have. maybe i lived there in a previous life, who knows, but there's something magnetic about it, which you show here with inspiring effect. there's warm and fertile imagery here, very resonant and lyrical, and, well, yeah... not really much in the mood for reviewing but i had to stop by and say that this was a picturesque read.

"Focus zenith hidden in the line/Where night has drawn her time" and "Pages in their wings", not to mention the very last stanza... strikingly excellent lines. The atmosphere of this piece reminded me of ancient Egypt restored to its glory thousands of years ago, specifically the nights... Mysterious, eerie, and almost netherworldly, a very good write. Keep it going.
