This is the beginning of a story that I just happened to start writing. The title will most definitely change. It's obviously no where close to done, this is just the intro, really. Don't read it if you get bored easily.

She made her bed, coincident with stains identical to rose petals, her pulse beat hindered with each bead. She loved him more than anything, she gave him more with every feed.
Upon each night she waited, for him to appear once more, with her heartbeat slowly fading, she recalled hymns of vampiric lore. The lights were quickly dimming, her senses failing to amass her reverie, she died, waking to find his lovely visage, a beautiful abnormality...

Thrice, he had shown and still, he had yet to say anything to her.
He held her down and exhaled on her blushing neck, she wanted to contest but abstained. Her fascination with him grew every night he appeared. She finally found her voice and implored, "Do you know of happiness?". He softened, paused for a moment, and looked into her faceted eyes. He was surprised by her demeanor of what seemed like permanent sorrow, a wise and saddened look that was much too old for someone so young. In that instant, he knew that her pain mirrored his, they were kindred. His grip waned on her thin wrists, and his predatory air faltered. He wiped the blood from his lips, and realized from somewhere within him, that he didn't want this one to die. She cautiously brought her hand up and held his face with the lightest touch, as he looked into her eyes of silver-gray for what seemed like hours until he responded.

There was something between them, something that was right, no matter the circumstances. She became his that night, and from then on, they were inseparable.
Just when he believed that he was soulless, he found something, rather- someone, who turned his anguish into joy.

"...Happiness is only real when shared, my dearest Lillia."

Euric was darkness itself. Nothing could touch him... save her.

    How could she have known?
Her earnest question peaked his interest and transformed her into something real,
someone real, someone worth his otherwise uncouth attention.
Empathy, a true empathy resonated, and from that, a noteworthy bond grew between them.
    That was three years ago.

"Euric! Euric! The dawn! Watch as it glitters on the horizon so!"
Lillia raced towards him, her face aglow, a face that would put to shame the most priceless of porcelain dolls.
She hugged him tight, and stared up at him with her mirroring eyes, expectant.
"Oh, my lovely Lilly, you grow more beautiful every night."
"I care not for the so-called beauty of the dawn, for you are the brightest star in my sky."
Lillia paused in a curious manner and then abruptly smiled.
"Do you mean that I'm like the sun?" She playfully cocked her head to the side, closed one eye and stuck her tongue out.
"No, my love, in truth, you are my moon, lighting my way and guiding me through the darkest of nights."
She looked down in a bashful manner, still smiling, fidgeted with her dress, then looked up, beaming.
"Come come now, it is almost light out, and so we must make haste to sleep."
    Euric held out his hand.
Lillia took hold of his hand with both of hers, and they made their way to their current boarding house.

It was supposed to be another peaceful night, but someone had other plans...
