We all know
what it’s like when
you’re only a shadow
to the one
you love.
But what if it was
the other way
around?
What about when the one
you like is the one
that loves you?
What about
when they’re
the invisible one?
It’s scary. That’s
for sure, with them
following you,
giving everything and
asking for nothing
but your
company.
Your love.
But you
have no love
to give them, so
what happens?
What happens when
you’re being smothered in
one-sided
love?
Don’t wish it
on any enemies,
don’t wish the mild
like, pain, guilt,
the absolute hell
that it puts you through.
But if it’s bad
for you, what
about them?
What about the one
who is invisible,
the one who
you can’t notice
even if you try.
What happens to
the one who
loves you?
They can’t help
it. It’s not their fault
that you’re so damn
lovable. What should
you be feeling?
You hate
yourself, for putting
them through this
hellfire. But you’re
flattered. Who
wouldn’t? And
then you hate
yourself even more,
for even thinking about
being happy when
that poor soul
is miserable,
heartsick, all
because you can’t
bring yourself to love.
Love sucks. That’s
the bitter truth.
If you’re able to
walk the thin
line between true
love and obsession,
watch out. It only
takes a tiny push
to send you falling
forever to the
depressing chasm
that is
one-sided
love.
