Description: This is the first love poem I have written in a very very long time. To be honest I am afraid to call my affection for this girl "love" but i'm not sure how long I can deny it. As the poem lays out, I'm helplessly head over heels despite knowing full well the danger i'm in. I fear the currents shall wreck me upon the rocks.
I try to resist but seeing her literally right now across the room as i write this has my heart quicken and that anxious joy reach new peaks. Lord help me.
As for the poem, i'm a little concerned that it may be to verbose at times. Any suggestions or comments at all are very much appreciated.
Love at first sight -------------------------------------------
Love at first sight I thought a fairy tale
Come from minds that vain ideal hopes romanced
Then I saw your face in a house of ale
My heart stilled in awe, my soul stared entranced
In defiance I thought myself secure
Yet your beautiful eyes melt resistance
My longing heart dreams you to be the cure
Dreaming us togeather in consistence
No more can I steer my heart from the helm
The currents are pulling my heart to thee
Powerful waves of passion overwhelm
The ice has melted, the ocean is free
In cold darkness you are my wamth and light
Inspireing dreams that bring lost delight
