    Come with me to Scotland
    and we'll sing a Scottish song!
    We'll lift a mug and shout for joy
    and our kin can sing along!

    Come with me to the highlands
    where the air is fresh and clear!
    Where the mist and smell of heather
    evokes a loving tear.

    Where the moors ask us to linger
    for just another day!
    Where the sweet bloom of the Heather
    takes one's breath away.

    Let's build a home in Scotland
    on a hill above the bay
    and every morn watch the fishing ships
    as they sail out for the day.

    Yea, come with me to Scotland!
    Let's leave our cares behind!
    For Scotland is my homeland,
    and it's forever on my mind.

      O.K. !!! When does the next ship leave ? Oh never mind, couldn"t afford it anyway, Plus my wife is afraid of boats,so I will read your poem, again and again, it takes the breath away.

    What a picture perfect vacation this would be.

      Just had to leave another note on this one...since I have now been back in Bonnie Scotland over year!
    It really is as beautiful as you describe. the air is crisp and clear, the birds are literally singing all hours lol
    I have a flat with an ocean view. i can see the harbour from my windows, the lighthouse, the fishing boats coming in, going out...the sounds off the foghorns, altho kinda eerie late at night, somehow sound beautiful too.
    Love your poems about Scotland, Ron...you have it down perfectly!!
    xx

      You got a response with this one, eh? The thing is, most of the Scots are not in Scotland any more. There isn't enough Scotland to go round. If all the Scots went to Scotland, it would sink. We need even more poems about Scotland!

      good job ron.

    your friend will be pleased that you marked his presence and then lack of it...

    he is fortunate to be going home. regardless of where that might be.

    too many exclams for me mate and whilst i know implicitly why they are in there, they strike me as redundant in the main.

    Come with me to Scotland
    and we'll sing a Scottish song.
    We'll lift a mug and shout for joy
    and our kin can sing along!

    Come with me to the Highlands
    where the air is fresh and clear;
    Where mist and the smell of heather
    evoke a wistful tear.

    Where the moors ask us to linger
    for just another day;
    And the sweet bloom of the Heather
    Simply take one's breath away.

    Let's build a home in Scotland
    on a hill above the bay
    and every morn watch fishing ships
    set sail sail across the bay.

    Yes come with me to Scotland.
    Let's leave our cares behind.
    For Scotland is my homeland
    and it's always on my mind.

    I'm half jock ron and i get where you're coming from.

    Take it easy mate,

    k

      Scottish Souls

    Come home with me to Scotland
    there we'll sing a Scottish song;
    lift our hearts and shout in joy
    for our kinsman to sing along.

    Come with me to the highlands
    where the bluebells ring all clear!
    There in the mist a smell of heather
    floods your soul, evoking lovely tears.

    Scotlandís moors may beg you to linger
    just another day, the moors hold you dear;
    here the sweet fragrance of Scotland lingers
    to fill oneís yearning of bagpipes and dreams.

    And if you find a home in Scotland one day
    on a hill above the bay its heaven on earth
    each and everyday to watch fishing boats
    as they sail out for the catch of the day.

    Return back home to sweet Scotland
    and leave your cares far, far behind;
    Scotland is your heartís homeland
    calling to each lost Scottish soul.
