    -------------------------------------------

Sweet lady from the lowland hill
Where the western wind does blow
My thoughts meander to you still
When you set my heart aglow

How precious was our time we spent
As we shared one beating heart
    With innocence and pure intent
Knowing one day we would part

Such longing still invades my mind
    My soul and spirit too
I try my best to leave behind
This love so strong and true

But still I cannot meet this vow
For you live within me still
I loved you then, I love you now
And I know I always will

This is delightful, as all of your work is. Makes me think of sweethearts that were lost from my youth that I still think about.

Just a delightful, fun poem to read.

This could be another love song! I imagine the tune to be something along the lines of "Michelle" by the Beatles; soft, steady guitar and gentle notes carrying these beautiful lyrics.
Any lady would be thrilled to be remembered by you in this way!
By the way, are lowlands anything like a marsh or swamp? Or are those called fens in your neck of the woods?
Regardless of the geographical description, this is another wonderful tribute to love (and love lost) by you, Frank!
    Thanks for sharing.
    Take care!
