Lol, meant it to be something else originally, turned into something political. Guess who!

We listen to words meant to beguile
Which is okay every once in a while
    But when you're devoted
to the untrue words so quoted
    "O beautiful for spacious skies"
You're living a life of lies

We know nothing but that which we're told
Our own opinions we can't uphold
The words ring hollow in our heads
as we take our daily amount of meds

We hear the words which you speak
the words that, even to yourself, seem weak
    the crowds that gathered
    had been so flattered
You wanted to make ends meet
the land you rule bows at your feet
You look out over the ocean blue skies
and prepare for your next bout of lies.

Okay...This makes two pieces now that I've read that are outstanding! The message here is clear and it speaks to politicians on both sides. And God knows both sides need to read this.

"You look out over the ocean blue skies
and prepare for your next bout of lies"

    Nice touch on the ending...
