Sweet Eden dots

Flow well tonight sweet Eden
Through this land you love so well
Grace me with your splendour
As you wind on through yon dell
Let me sit awhile and rest beside
Your banks of bonnie blue
Where the heather sways in unison
And the flowers bow for you

Fill my heart with wonderment
With thoughts of love and joy
As I relive my memories
Of when I was a boy
Bring to me the peace of mind
I knew of long ago
Ease the worries of my life
As relentlessly you flow

Carry me where I can find
A love so true and strong
Take me to the loving arms
That I’ve missed now, for so long
What I would give to hold my love
With all my very might
Sweet Eden, help my weary soul
As you flow so well tonight

  "Nice job Frank, your pen has proven that poetry flows in rivers, particularly those of our youth. As a boy my playground was the Thames River in Southern Ontario (not in London England). I spent many hours there catching crayfish, minnows, and painted turtles (which I released) and once even rescued a drowning bird. Years later another romance developed with rivers, it was fly fishing. Anyway Frank, thanks for the read.....Mugsy------

  I'm a country boy, and poems with nature in them are always a favorite of mine. And, who can resist the allure of a peaceful and meandering river!

This is another delight from your talented pen, and it drew me into that wistful mood that one falls into when sitting at the bank of a meandering river and daydreaming about bygone days!
